Conference for Languages and Business in Berlin

More than 200 participants from 23 countries convened in Berlin to discuss the latest developments in the fields of foreign language training and intercultural communication. The figures indicate a significant rise in the event’s international stature. Andreas Glombitza from the University of Tübingen and Christel Schneider, ICC - the international language association presented the PELLIC project at this conference.

 

PELLIC Workshop at 22nd Meeting & Conference of SPACE

(European Network for Business Studies & Languages), 27 – 30 April 2011 in Mechelen (Belgium). Prof. Dr. Mercedes Aznar, English Lecturer at Florida University, Institute of Higher Education (Spain), informed on the PELLIC project in a workshop on Multilingualism in Modern Business and Education with the title PELLIC Project: Bringing the International Business Working Environment into the Classroom. Attendance was significantly high and delegates showed a great interest in the project throughout the workshop, which lasted for nearly 2 hours.


 
Pellic project presentation for about 35 TUAS language teachers in a seminar in August 2011. The development and current stage of Pellic virtual learning environment and modules presented by Anne-Marie Jünger, University of Turku, FI.   Jana Cepickova and Christel Schneider presented PELLIC at the ICC 18th Annual Conference 2011 in Winterthur, Switzerland, in co-operation with 'Flying Teachers' and 'Migros Club Schools 25 - 26 March 2011. Pellic project presentation by Pirjo Kavander, Universitgy of Turku, FI, in the Research and Development day in TUAS Salo campus, 9 February 2011. Practice Enterprise is the central teaching method in the campus and thus Pellic presentation got a big audience of interested teachers and students.   PELLIC Workshop at 21st Autumn Meeting & Conference of SPACE (European Network for Business Studies & Languages) 6 – 9 October 2010 in Kavala (Greece). Prof. Dr. Mercedes Aznar, English Lecturer at Florida University, Institute of Higher Education (Spain), presented the PELLIC project in a workshop on Intercultural Communication. The conference was well attended and delegates took a great interest in the project.

 

"English learning in international business: practice enterprise courses in a blended learning scenario"

Andreas Glombitza presented PELLIC at a Symposium entitled 'Authenticating Language Learning: Web Collaboration Meets Pedagogic Corpora' February 17 - 19 2011. Andreas Glombitza also presented PELLIC at the conference 'Moodlemoot 2011' at Nordakademie Elmshorn April 14 - 15. Here you will find the presentations slides.

 

"ICT in Language Instruction"

Prof. Dr. Kurt Kohn, University of Tübingen, presented the PELLIC project at the LTIME Conference with a Keynote 'ICT in Language Instruction' 16th September 2010 at the University of Warsaw, Poland.

The 6th Annual Conference of the British Association of Applied Linguistics Language Learning and Teaching SIG (BAAL) took place from 8-9 July 2010 at King's College.

Andreas Glombitza, University of Tübingen and Christel Schneider, ICC International, presented the PELLIC project at King's College, London to an international audience who took great interest in the project.(CS)

ICC International Conference introduced PELLIC at their 17th Annual Conference in Hamburg, Germany 19-20 March 2010 Jana Cepickova, University of West Bohemia, CZ and Christel Schneider, ICC International Language Network, DE presented the PELLIC project 'Practice Enterprise for Language Learning & Intercultural Communication' at the conference. The project triggered great interest, especially for course developers working with and in Second Life. (CS)
